Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The Goals I set was to be a great leader to the young guys we had coming in, and really help them understand the system quicker. Me being the oldest person in the secondary, and us having a new DB coach who came in the start of camp. I really had to step up to teach my coach and get my guys ready each day. My individual goal was to be the best Defensive Back in the Conference, and lead the NAIA in INTs. I led my Conference in INTs and was 6th in the whole NAIA.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
That I am very coachable, and would give you 100% effort at whatever you tell me to do. Very competitive, and that I am a versatile Defensive Back.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
My focus is the amount of times they run certain plays in different Formations. Another key I look for is types of plays ran on certain downs and distance. Reading the O-line is a big key to me as well they usually give away certain types of plays on how they align. With that it helps me understand which types of plays they have when being in certain downs. I also break down what defensive plays go with each formation based off the plays they ran in those formations.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I can play any Defensive Back position, and I have a strong IQ for the game. Not only can I play and dominate at Safety, I can also shut down any number one WR/Slot physically and mentally. I can be moved around and still give you the same results.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently training with RDF “Coach Marfo”. He has been working with me this summer going into my Senior season, and it was a great outcome, so I’m hoping to have the same results when I have my pro days. Plan on getting faster than what I already am, and continue to work on the little things.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I bring athleticism with being able to be moved around in the Secondary, and also in the Return Game. I am sure tackler, and can create great field position in the return game. With me being in the Nickel, Safety, or even me being on an island I can be a key piece to any teams Secondary. Off the field I bring a positive/influential role model. Having a great relationship with my coaches and teammates is a very important aspect when it comes to playing in the secondary.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
Getting me you’ll get 100% every day, and a great leader on and off the field. I am what my stats say I am on the field regardless of the Division I was in. I am the Best DB in the 2020 NFL Draft class this year. Football is Football no matter the level, and you won’t be disappointed.
