Name: Cameron Newsome
School: Waldorf
Position: CB/WR
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 187
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I set were to become a first team all conference CB because the last two years before this one I was selected 2nd team and most importantly continue to carry on the foundation of being first class in everything I do. Which I succeeded both for my team and myself because for rather being remembered as a great player, I will be remember for also being a great person.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe they would say that I’m a very versatile teammate with a lot of heart and passion for the game.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I really focus on offense tendencies involving field position and down and distance. Lastly, I watch all the receiver’s releases and moves off the line so I can have a better understanding of what I need to do to be in the best position of coverage.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I think my height and athleticism. I mean, I’m a taller corner, but I am pretty shifty so that’s always a great combo.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
The off-season plan for me is just continuing to get stronger and faster. I’m a dual athlete so I will be heading into track season so much of my training will be coming from that.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The abilities I possess are hard work and accountability. I’m someone who never complains, but instead defines outcomes by making myself better along with the people around me. That goes for on the field and off! I’m always looking for ways to become even greater than I was the day before. I’m also someone you can depend on when it comes to getting whatever is needed done. Natural baller so whereever I’m needed for the team that’s what I will do.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
The pitch is that whatever is meant for you is meant for you. So chasing the dream would be an understatement because with all the success and accomplishments I have had involving this sports, I owe to the man above. So I will forever leave it up to him if I get picked or not.
