Name: Shane Fudge

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
This season my goal was to be an All-Conference player, and lead my team in having the highest Offensive Line Film Grade. My junior year I was Honorable Mention All-Conference so I wanted to make it on First or Second team for my senior year. I achieved both of my goals by having the highest Film Grade average and I also made Second Team All-Conference.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would describe me as a hard worker. On and off the field I take pride in my work ethic and being the best version of myself I can be. I work hard so I can be the best leader, teammate, and player I can be.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film, I watch every play several times. I try to see how I would grade myself, I look at my steps and my technique, and I look for any area of improvement on any given play. Film study is a huge part of success in growing as a player but also understanding the team and players you are facing weekly.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What sets me apart is my worth ethic. I came into college as a Defensive Lineman and spent my first season on the scout team. I moved over to the Offensive Line and worked hard to learn how to be an Offensive Lineman. I then went on to have a great college career playing Offensive Line. I thrive on having a chip on my shoulder and using that as motivation to do things that nobody else thinks I can do. Being a shorter Offensive Lineman is seen as flaw, but I use it to my advantage. I naturally have low pad level and it helps me get underneath guys and execute my job effectively.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan is to train so I stay in playing shape physically. I plan on dropping some weight and cutting fat.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My top areas of strength are being a leader, and someone who fully invests into the culture of a team. Like I stated earlier, I am an extremely hard worker and aspire to out work everyone. I want to be the hardest worker in every room I step in. As far as abilities go, I bring a high football IQ as well as a high urgency to learn. I am a very technical football player who also plays with a mean streak. I feel I can add value to any team that gives me an opportunity.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
If you want a guy to come in that can add value in all areas, I’m you’re guy. I’m ready to to prove that the stigma on shorter Offensive Lineman can be broken. Height helps, but it isn’t everything. I just want a chance to compete, show my talent, and work hard to earn a spot.
