Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
To lead my team effectively as a team captain on and off the field, increase my number of touchdowns from my 2016 season, and increase my endurance and speed in game.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Strong, competitive, quick.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I have been training with the head strength and conditioning coach at BHSU working specifically on functional speed, body control, quickness and physical stamina. I also had the opportunity to perform with D1 athletes in the FCS All American All Star Tropical Bowl Game as a way to prove my level of skills and test my ability with players outside of the D2 player group.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I look at down and distance. Teams tend to play certain coverages in specific down and distance situations. I also watch for the defense’s tendencies. My focus is what makes a DB flip his hips and any other defensive tendencies I can take advantage of during the game.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I have a great inner competitiveness and pride. I want to be better than anyone I play against. Not only do I want to catch every ball thrown to me, but I want to do it confidently as if I were unstoppable.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Agility, toughness, speed, and conceptualization.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I continue to grow everyday. I still have much to learn, but I have an excellent work ethic and a strong will to succeed. I am coachable, confident, and ready for professional level football.
