Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals that I set out for this season were to be one of the top two leading tacklers on the team, be in the all conference talk, and make the playoffs. I was able to accomplish the first two but fell short on the last one leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth and still hungry for more.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
When thinking about the type of player my coaches and teammate would describe me as is probably controlled chaos. They would say I will put my body on the line to make plays or get a stop and no they never have to worry about my effort.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film as a line backer the main thing I focus on is my footwork and first step. As a linebacker that first step is the most important one to put you in the correct position to make the play. After watching that I look for any give aways the the other teams have along with give aways that I might have.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The thing that separates me from other pro prospects is the iq that I have. I have the ability to learn a defense quickly and understand where the weakness in the defense are and how they might try to exploit those weaknesses. Along with the iq is my toughness I am not someone that will miss games for small injuries if I can walk I can play.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
The plan I have for this off-season is to continue to train with my strength coach the knowledge he has is unreal. The other plans I have is to try and get in with some of the professional trainers that are out here in arizona a huge amount of prospects come here to train and iron will always sharpen iron. I know where I need to improve and having an off season like this where I can focus just on my craft and nothing else will be huge.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The biggest strength and ability that I believe I have is the heart and toughness I play with it helps me to lead with out be vocal. When your teammates see all that you are doing to be out there and win at all aspects of life they begin to feel like they can’t let you down so they level up their play.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
The final pitch I have for the NFL and any other pro leagues are that throughout my career I have never been in a position where I can focus on just football and not have to put my body through things like working over night shifts to make ends meet during season. It shows how dedicated I was to putting myself in a situation to get a shot to continue my career. You will never have to beg for effort from me and regardless of me being a starter or not you will have a player the whole team will respect as a leader.
