Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Before the season I set four goals for myself which were to earn First Team All-conference, First Team All-American, help my team win the national championship, and to graduate . I’ve accomplished ¾ of my goals. The last step is to graduate this spring.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say I’m a true teammate, leader in the position group, coachable, and a high character player.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying film on myself I’m critiquing my footwork, strike, and my overall execution on the play seeing what I can do better to improve. As far as watching my opponent, I’m studying their tendencies, their get off , motor and their alignment. I’ll also breakdown the formations they will get in on the different down and distance and when they blitz and what type of blitzes they use.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other prospects is my Athleticism. To excel as an offensive lineman you not only need to dominate the line of scrimmage, but you need to be able to get to the second and third level and make those key blocks, that is my strength. Also, my football IQ has improved to where I can see a certain movement out of the defense and know what’s coming.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
The plan is to work with Professional trainers to improve strength, speed, agility, and flexibility.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I bring a strong character such as the ability to be a professional on and off the field. I hold myself accountable and I embrace being a leader and a role model. I have a drive to win, I’m the player you want to run behind when we need that first down or when we need to score in the red zone. I have the ability to make adjustments in any situation because there will always be some type of adversity, but it’s all about how you respond to it.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Any team willing to give me the opportunity to be a part of their organization will not only be getting a player that will give his all and continuously improve, but you’ll be getting someone that would be an asset to your locker room and city.
