Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My major goals going into the season were to win a national championship, go undefeated in the regular season, and make all conference. Although we came up short of the national championship, I am thankful that I was able to achieve my other two goals. I received unanimous first team all conference and we went 11-0 during the regular season.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I am a player who works extremely hard and that I am a complete receiver. I take pride in doing anything that I can do to make a positive impact on the game. I love scoring touchdowns and catching the ball, but I am just as competitive when it comes to blocking and other aspects of the game that don’t show up in the stat sheet.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film on my opponents, I first focus on their defensive coverages. I also focus on tendencies of their defensive players and how they tackle. This helps me envision ways to get extra yards and make big plays.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
A lot of players at this level have similar qualities. One thing that no one else has that I do is my specific story and journey. Everything I went through to get me to this point has made me an extremely resilient player and person. I believe that my resiliency and attention to detail set me apart.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have been talking to a few training facilities and potential agents. I do not have anything set in stone at this moment but I am dedicating a huge chunk of my time and energy to getting better. I want to focus on many aspects of my game and to get in the best shape of my life.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Even as a new player, I am still confident in my ability to lead. No matter what team I play for, everyone will be able to see me lead by example in everything I do. I take pride in my integrity on and off the field. Doing what is right when now one is looking is very important to me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I know I am coming from a small school, but I am also extremely confident in my abilities. A lot of people might doubt me, but I will bet on myself every time. I can guarantee that any team that invents in me will not regret it.
