Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My goals heading into senior year were to win a conference championship, make the playoffs, and make first team all conference.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Passionate, Reliable, Relentless.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I’ve been working on my explosion, footwork, flexibility, hand strength, and lateral quickness. Also, I’ve been very conscious of my nutrition and making sure my body is fueled with the proper food.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
In the film room, I look at the tendencies of my opponents when they play man coverage, and try to find how I can exploit them. I look at all the different coverages they play, so I can find holes in their zone and expose them. I like to see how players react to each play throughout the game, so I can assess their mindset.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me is my journey, and what it took for me to get where I am today. In high school, I had zero offers and stepped away from the game of football for a year. My career was over, but then I decided to continue with the game I love. In Junior College, I broke my foot, which sidelined me for a whole season. Instead of being away from the game, I coached at my high school, and I returned older and wiser. Seeing the game from a different perspective made me a better player.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My leadership and my work ethic. I love the game of football, so I am always looking forward to working and improving. I’ve always been one of the smaller guys on the field, but I’ve always been the hardest worker wherever I go. Being the hardest worker has allowed my teammates to trust me and look to me as a leader.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I’ve had to work hard for everything I’ve ever received and I know what it feels like to not have any opportunities. With that being said, I would not take anything for granted. I will do anything in my power to win a job and help my team/organization win.
