Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Justin: Instinctive, Effortless, Physical.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Justin: I’m training at my school Troy University and finishing my degree as well.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Justin: Tyran Matthieu because he is not the biggest guy, but he plays way bigger and he’s a defensive playmaker.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Justin: I look for tendencies and weaknesses of the offense that I can exploit and gain an advantage on the opposing offense.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Justin: My natural instincts and that I am a smart player and I’m a natural born leader.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Justin: Leadership and passion for this game on and off the field.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Justin: I’m a very instinctive football player and I’m a leader and a natural born winner. I went 38-11 in my college career, including two junior college national championships where I was defensive MVP of the game. I was also the Dollar General Bowl Champion and MVP of the game. I helped lead Troy to its first 10 win season and first bowl game victory in 6 years. My proudest accomplishment is that I will graduate this may with a bachelors degree.
I’m so proud of this young man. I have seen him grow from jr legue football, high school football and watched him play in college. Not only is Justin Lucas a great football player but what stands out is that he’s a great kid overall with his grades, respect for all people and the way he carry himself which will take him far in life. I can’t wait to see him play on the national level because hard work has paid off for him. Love ya Justin
