Name: Dyllan Bailey
College: Illinois College
Position: Running Back / Defensive End
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 227
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Dyllan: Physical/Athletic/Versatile.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Dyllan: I will be doing various free-weight lifts along with band work, flexibility exercises, and speed/agility/acceleration/footwork drills on the field. I will also be working on my catching and hand-eye coordination.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Dyllan: I would compare myself to Julian Edelman not because of the size and speed or any athletic attributes, but of how he is able to make nothing plays into “The play”. I believe I have the capability of making things happen.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Dyllan: For running back, I would always check the defensive scheme each week and would watch the tendencies and weak points of the linebackers and the rest of the secondary. For defensive end, I would watch the tackle’s feet and see if he is stable or easy to get off balance. I would see what he triggers to on the defender. I watch how quick he can move. Another thing I watch is where and how he punches his hand at his target. I watch the quarterback and watch his awareness, his speed and agility in the backfield, and what his tendencies are when he gets pressured. I also see if the running back cuts or blocks.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Dyllan: I am very quick to pick up plays and assignments and I am very precise and have great intent every time when I am given the opportunity to show what I’m made of. I make it count every time when I am on the field.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Dyllan: I believe that my dedication, focus, and ability to persistently bring my “A game” each day to film, meetings, and practice with such intent to win and succeed will be something that will stand out to coaches.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Dyllan: I am the clutch player that gets the job done no matter what the job is. I am very versatile, athletic, and instinctual when it comes to playing on the field. Wherever that may be.
