Name: Dane Evans
College: Tulsa
Position: Quarterback
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 212

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Dane: Exciting, savvy, gunslinger.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Dane: I have been training in between APEC in Fort Worth, Texas and back at TU in Tulsa. I had an incredible time training in Fort Worth with the guys at APEC they helped me improve drastically in every testing category and helped me improve passing velocity and accuracy.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Dane: I love the position of Quarterback and I think that every guy in the League does something unique and great, that’s why they are in the league. But, I would compare myself to either Drew Brees or Brett Favre.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Dane: When studying film, I look at anything and everything I can. Safeties alignment, linebackers stance on certain situations, d-lineman’s tendencies, defensive coordinators tendencies and favorite blitzes; anything that an OC would watch is exactly what I watch.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Dane: I think what separates me from other QBs in this draft class is my competitiveness and my knowledge for offenses in general. Throughout my time at Tulsa I had 4 different OC’s which was tough, but it did teach me how to look at a different situation through their eyes and tons of terminology which is what the NFL is. Verbiage, verbiage, verbiage.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Dane: Someone that can learn an offense in basically one day. Also, the ability to make any throw on the field from any platform that is needed.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Dane: That even though I played in a “system offense” in college, I am not just a “system QB”. I understand and run pro concepts at Tulsa, we just did them extremely fast. Also, I genuinely love this game and being a coaches kid helps a lot. I have been around this game since I was in diapers and I can’t think of doing anything else other than playing football at the professional level.
