Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
One of my biggest goals was to stay healthy throughout the season, I have Nate Hepner and his staff to thank for helping me accomplish that goal. Another big goal was to help my team win a championship. I also set forth a personal goal of getting 1st team all-conference, which I did. I am super blessed and thankful for that honor.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I understand the game very well, I understand how to read defenses and create separation from man coverage. They would also say that I was dependable and a big competitor.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I study film I focus on the tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses of the corner I am going against. I also like to see how certain corners or safety’s disguise certain coverages that way when I am in the game it’s like I have already seen it multiple times. As far as studying film on myself I like to find ways I can improve in all aspects of being a WR such as releases, blocking, and route running.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
It’s a few things. I understand the game very well. I can read defenses and know where all the open zones are in any coverage. I also run really crisp routes and know how to use my body to create separation.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have been training in the Dallas, Texas area at Atlet. It is a great place to train, and I have learned so much from the trainers and other players I am training with.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Some of my strengths are route running, retaining knowledge, and catching in traffic. I understand how to use my body very well and get in and out of breaks as fast as possible. I can pick up and learn new plays very quickly. I have always done a good job of catching in traffic and am not afraid to put my body on the line to make the big time catch.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am just a small-town kid waiting for my opportunity to showcase what God has blessed me with. Whatever team decides to take a chance on me they will not regret it. I am a hard worker who strives to be the best player he can be day in and day out.
