Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

Becoming more consistent in my game and with being a leader becoming the backbone of the offense when it came to clutch down situations and being a spark creator. I combined being a physical leader and a vocal leader. I forced teams to double team me as a tight end and I believe that I accomplished the goal of gaining my respect.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

A reliable Playmaker that will always accept his calling. Even though I knew I was capable of doing more on the field statistically I played each game how it was coached and did my job wether it was more of a blocking game or a receiving game for me. I took pride in blocking just as much as catching the ball.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I first check on my previous game or practice and see if I’m paying attention to detail as far as my steps I should take to execute certain blocks. I believe in my ability to be and effective route runner so I pay attention to my routes, depth, cuts, arm/hand usage and stemming and stacking and using eyes to throw off timing on defenders. When watching the defenses film I pay attention to how discipline the linebackers and strong safety’s are when split out. Tendencies that I can pick up on to make my objective easier. When on the line Defensive Ends can always tell me where they are going based on linebacker alignment in most cases. So overall seeing the field is important to me. Pre snap read!

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I’m very crafty, I don’t have the tall frame most tight ends are preferred to have but I’ve built my game to my size that makes me a mismatch to the defense. I can run any route effectively and correctly and my catch radius is larger then my arm length. I’m thick and strong in my legs but I can run and move as well making it a good frame to block and move with defenders in the open field. Besides that I just know how to make plays and be effective with my objective given. I make sure my presence is felt. Offense or special teams.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’ve been training at Champions Sports Performance learning Parisi speed techniques to become faster with my Linear and lateral speed! Core is a must when playing football and I’m a preacher of having a good core to withstand the contact. Cardio is key as well! Weights and I are very acclimated I’ll just say that.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Reliability to do my job and then some. My ambition and life story can change peoples lives for the better I believe. On the field, early a team will see a driven focused player on a mission. A big body that can’t make plays with the ball and be and X factor for an offense. Off the field, as much as I have been through you will still see all smiles and the ability to bring good spirits to any situation. They will know how good I can work with kids, I train kids at the gym I train at. I train speed, strength and movement to kids ages 7- high school and I love it and the atmosphere of helping kids see their potential and showing them the way by being an example. I want to be the best player I can be but I want to be an even better person. Life is too short to waste.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My size or competition does not represent my potential. I’ll rise to the occasion. I’ve never folded, once you get to know my story you will understand what kind of player you have here. It’s a lifestyle not just a game. This game of football got me this far in life and the road wasn’t easy by any means. One shot is all I need. That’s all I’ve ever had. Just need one more. Let’s talk and you or whoever will understand what I bring to the table. I was built for this.
