Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals that I set for myself to accomplish during my final collegiate season were to improve my Punting Yard Average from the year before as well as have more punts land inside the 20 yard line to help the team the best I could, always aiming to become the best version of myself on the field. I also wanted to be an All-Conference Punter in back to back years which I was able to accomplish.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I would say that my coaches would mention that I am a passionate teammate, one that is always trying to encourage, uplift, and motivate others; As well as leading by example to the rest of the team, not only in the weightroom but outside of football as well.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying my film I focus on the little things that could lead to improving my punting ability. Whether it’s noticing how I drop my ball, to how I swing my leg on certain kicks. As a result, I am able to perform analytical corrections on my punting during the next practices which would then lead to gameday. That way I know what to improve and continue to tighten up my punting skills.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I feel what separates me from other pro prospects at my position would be my resilience as well as my underdog mentality.I attended a highschool in a small town called Corning California, then I attended JuCo, Shasta College. Not very many make it out of JuCo and being one of the few that made it to the next level only made me hungrier to become not only a better athlete but a better young man.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My offseason plans, as I’ve done in the past, is to use the knowledge of UAPB’s strength coach to help me build strength through workouts, as well as my kicking coach that will touch up my kicking techniques which will help me prepare for my Pro Day in March.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Some of the strengths that I would bring to help the team include, but are not limited to, my communication skills with others, leading by example, being able to get along and connect with each teammate that way I can build bonds on and off the field. Not only my teammates but with the staff within the organization and the community around me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch to the NFL and all other Professional Leagues would be that they would not have to worry about me not putting in the hard work day in and day out or showing up to meetings or practices late. They would be getting an athlete that is willing to put the time and effort to better myself physically and mentally every day of the week. That way I am prepared for any opportunity that is given to me and make sure to not take any opportunity given to me for granted.
