Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goal was to win a conference championship and make it to the national championship . Unfortunately we came up short due to a lot of injuries.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say on the field I am a very talented player. Natural born leader and very intelligent.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Honestly being a bigger receiver, I’m aware that I’m always going to be lined up with the better corner. When watching film I focus on releases and try to figure out tendencies based on certain down and distances. Also I pay attention to the type of defense that I will go against. Focusing on the defense and the certain personnel can make the game smoother for me come game day.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I personally believe you can’t teach size. What separates me is that I can run routes very well for my size and I surprise defensive backs with my speed.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Immediately after graduation begin training right away. I want to stay ready and keep improving for when pro day comes I will put up great numbers.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My journey is my strength. Over time I persevered through so much to get this point. The ability I will bring to a team is hard-work and grit because nothing was never nothing given so being passionate on the field is all I know. Off the field I’m a proud man of faith. As times goes on meeting my new teammates I believe my wisdom in the lord and applying qualities to life will make me stand out.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Joshua Okechukwu is a gem. I can add dominance and a killer mentality when having me on your team and the field. Believing in me and pouring into me in becoming a great player will bring nothing but success.
