Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My goals going into my final season were to compete for a Big Sky championship, lead the nation in rushing offense, and give up the fewest sacks as An O-line. I knew if we accomplished these goals, everything else would take care of itself.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Tough, Smart, and Quick.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I plan on training at Cal Poly for our pro day. I will be training with our training coach while finishing up school. I plan on focusing on adding strength and perfecting my form to run the most efficient times. As well as working on Offensive Line skill drills.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I start by just watching the game all the way through, looking at fronts, the defense running to the ball, and anybody who just stands out. Then, I evaluate the clips by down and distance and really focus on passing downs as well as short yardage. I want to key in on the defensive line’s plan of attack on those plays. Throughout the whole process of this, I am keeping my eye on pad level and quickness as well.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I believe what separates me from other players is my quickness, technique, and toughness. I believe due to my undersized height, I learned to be as efficient and fast as possible, with my feet and technique. Lastly, I believe my toughness is unmatched on the field.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
What I can bring to a team on the field is a competitive attitude throughout every aspect of the game. I don’t want to lose and I believe that spills into how I handle every task day in and day out. Off the field, I am on time and do everything with a purpose, from helping out in the community to focusing within meetings.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
If given the opportunity with any NFL team, my attitude and drive will not be matched. My attitude and toughness will not let me fail.
