Name: Dominic Hitchcock
School: Buffalo State
Position: OG
Height: 6’5″
Weight: 300
Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
Having transferred to Buffalo State for my final season, I was unsure what to expect football wise. However, I made sure to prepare myself becoming a leader in the weight room and spending many hours watching film in the coaches office learning the playbook.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would comment on the physical intensity I bring to the field. Also, the ability I have to help teach the younger linemen the plays and how to handle themselves on the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying film, I am focusing on my technique. Critiquing my footwork and analyzing how I could better react to certain defensive moves.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I believe my football knowledge and IQ separates me from most players at my position. Being a 5th year senior, playing under 4 different head coaches through 2 schools, and learning 5 different playbooks in my time as a player has helped me understand many of the intricacies of the game.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I was lucky enough to find STA Sports Performance in Buffalo, New York, a training facility that helps many athletes from high school to professional levels work on their strength and conditioning. I will be spending most of my time there preparing myself. As well as at CrossFit Dunkirk, a small training facility in Dunkirk, NY where the owner creates a personalized strength and conditioning program based on my needs.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I bring a level of intensity both physically and mentally, in which I am competing. I’ll be giving it my all on the field, while immediately after practice ends, diving into the playbook and film to correct any possible mistakes I made and to be sure not to make them again.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Football is my life. As long as I have the opportunity and ability to compete, I will give everything I got to show I’m worth the shot.
