Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My main goals were to remain healthy throughout the season, increase my football IQ, and to create as many turnovers as possible.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Communicative, Athletic, and Physical.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I’m focusing on becoming the most explosive athlete I can be while watching film and studying the game.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I study film to critique myself and understanding my opponent’s tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses (especially the subtle ones).
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My time at LSU has prepared me for playing in multiple defenses. I have an increased understanding of the X’s & O’s, and therefore I’m able to adjust to different schemes. Second to that, I believe in versatility and will play multiple positions.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Leadership by example, the willingness to work with others, and fellowship are what I believe to be my best attributes.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Corey Thompson is an investment that coaches can trust. He brings value to their team by giving full effort, having the ability to adapt, and by handling his business on and off the field.
