What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goal was to make it to the playoffs for the first time but we fell short of doing that. I wanted to break the school interception record. I wanted to score 5 touchdown on punt and kickoff return. Also making All Conference and All American. Unfortunately fell short on those but I did make the All Conference list.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
This season helped me grow from a mental stand point. We gain a whole new coaching staff in short notice so I had to learn a whole new defense and adopt to how the defense should be played. Also help me become a better leader.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I have a knack for the ball, always around it. A game changer it don’t matter where I am put at on the field. Goes all out till the clock hit all zero.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I would look for the wide receiver and quarterback tendency on what they like to do. I look at how the receivers come out running routes versus how they come out to run blocks. Also look at the offensive lineman to see if they give any indication what they going to do.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Can put me anywhere on the field and I will produce. Can give a spark to the team at any moment.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Plan on to gain more weight as I continue to get faster and bigger. Improve on footwork and defensive back drills.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field I bring that player-coach mentality so I can help anyone that needs to be help to learn the scheme. Bring leadership always challenging teammates to be better everyday. Off the field I would say I bring critical thinking helping others think things through before it happens. Adaptability helping others adapt to the culture and surrounding environment.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I hope that I am given the chance to play the game I love. I might be small and went to a small school, but I can play some ball.
