Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Going into the season I wanted to win the conference and national championship, I wanted to be an all American ,Defensive Player of the years , I wanted to win the gene Upshaw award for best linemen in division 2 football, I wanted to post 20 sacks and 25 TFLS. I was a 1st team all American by 4 out of the 5 committees , I was the super region 1 Defensive player of the year, we as a team were co-champions for the psac west conference, we underachieved in the playoffs and couldn’t get to the national title. I underachieved stat wise posting 10.5 sacks, 18 TFLs and 15 QB hits that could have easily been sacks due to little errors on my part.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think my teammates and coaches would say I’m a very smart player ,who knows and respects the game of football, and how much work it takes to be just good, and a great leader.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I study film watching offensive linemen I see how they kick set, the depth and width of it , how they throw there punch , where it’s coming from , how quick they throw it , how good they are with their inside hand. When im studying film on the greats in the league right now it’s kind of the same , how they get off, the angles they take when pass rushing, how they set up there moves , where on the arm they swat or engage with when doing their moves.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other pro prospects I think would be my knowledge of the craft of dline and pass rushing , I think I understand it a little better than at least most people I’ve met, I’m stout in the run game, I know I have to earn the right to rush the passer, and I believe I got every single pass rush move in my arsenal that i see dlinemen doing on Sundays.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Currently I am getting my body back right, through the playoffs and the last couple games of the season I was playing with what I thought was a sports hernia but it was a a stress fracture in my pelvis so I am just getting back to full health right now to take my shot at the next level, I’m training with prolific performance in Maryland and rehabbing with impact sports.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
As a dlinemen and as a player my strengths are rushing the passer and stopping the run, I believe I’m very good with movement in the run game, and as a rush end I will put pressure on the qb.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
To any pro team, I’m a player who once I’m in the building and you see me work, move, adapt and learn, you will be compelled to take a chance on me, and you will not regret it, I’ve been through a lot with this game, if it’s one thing I will do it is find a way to figure it out and find a way to win.
