Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

As a team, we didn’t reach our end goal of a national title that we set out before the season. But I’m sure that we turned some heads this season with the product we showed. Obviously we may not have hit our overall goal for the season, but we were able to lead the Canada West conference in rushing statistics which has always been a goal of mine since I got to the UofA. On a personal level, being recognized as a first team all Canadian this season was a great way to cap it off. With the help from our RB Matt Peterson and the rest of the OLine I was humbled to be able to represent the product we put out this season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I believe my teammates and coaches would mention my work ethic and relentless. I take pride in having a leadership role with the Golden Bears and I always want to do my best and lead by example. If people start seeing the leaders of the team working the hardest, teammates will see that and follow, is what I believe in.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I tend to search for certain tendency’s or giveaways that players show in the film. Obviously, my priority as a Centre is to know what’s going on every play but when I can see certain defensive lineman angle their stance differently from before, or scanning for stacked looks that’ll hint to us a primary blitzer is coming. Little stuff like that is what I scan for when watching film to slow down the game come game time.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I’ve been told I am undersized many times in my career, and I am still putting on weight with lots of room to grow. What separates me is my field vision and finish. I feel confident in every game that I’m gonna make the right calls and keep my technique proper. A motto that we go by in our Offensive Line room is carnage. And we take pride in finishing our blocks and playing to the whistle. I prioritize playing with explosiveness and physicality.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My Off season plan is not much different then any other off season I’ve had. I love training and the off season portion of football so my past off seasons have been very beneficial to me. I will continue training with the Golden Bears with my strength and conditioning coach, Smith Wright to continue developing myself as an athlete while focusing on proper,  recovery.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The strengths and qualities I will bring to a team include work ethic, competition, and leadership. I love to put my head down and get to work. Competition is also a big part of everything that comes from football for me. Every rep, drill, workout, etc. is an opportunity to compete. Whether I’m competing with the guy next to me or if I’m competing against myself, I’m gonna do my best to be the best. Off the field, I understand that whatever role I am assigned if the opportunity presents itself, is the role I embrace. We all have a role and whatever the role may be, if everyone embraces the role they’re in, I find those are some qualities of a championship level team.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I am someone who leads by example and does whatever it takes to be the best version of myself every day. I understand and love the game of football and I love the physicality aspect of this sport. Our motto of Carnage is something I stand strongly for with playing football the way it should be played. No matter where the opportunity presents itself, ill be the biggest supporter and advocate of team success.
