Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Unanimous 1st team all Big Sky conference center. FCS Remington Award Winner. All-American center.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

As an o-line unit at SUU we have a creed we live by. We are Detail Oriented, Relentless, Physically Dominant. That is exactly what I am. I’m a finisher. I impose my will on the person across the line of scrimmage. My teammates expect to see multiple pancakes and knock downs each game. You will never see me have a lack of effort moment; I am always giving it my all.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

As an o-lineman technique is critical and it all starts from the ground up. A lot of the times when you get beat it is because your footwork is not right. When I watch film, I always look at my technique and footwork first. If my technique is not right, I am setting myself up to fail. The next thing I look at is my effort. Did I give it my all that play? If I didn’t, then it is not good enough. You have to be a finisher in football to be successful. I also always look to study my opponents. Film study on your opponent can give you a huge advantage in the game. What is their favorite move? What is their favorite counter move? What are their favorite blitzes? What do they do on third down, red zone, first down and so on? I am always trying to learn how I can have the upper hand on my opponent.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I have been overlooked my whole life because of my height. I have the drive to prove everyone wrong. People said that I was too short to play college; I became a three time all-conference and all-American center, and the FCS Remington award winner. You don’t see many other people at my position that have those accolades. I am sick and tired of people saying that I am too short and I am going to do all I can to show that my height does not affect my play.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I am 100% focused on my training and preparation for the NFL this off season. I just graduated with my bachelor’s degree so I do not have to worry about school. I am going to be training for my pro-day with NFL agent Jeremy Newberry helping me along the way.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a leader. I was a three-time captain at Southern Utah. I look to hold those around me accountable. Peer to peer leadership is very important, and I look to make sure those around me are headed in the right direction. I am not afraid to get somebody right. Teams need players that make other players around them better, not bring them down. I am a married family guy that will not have any off the field issues. I take care of my business and you won’t have to worry if I am studying my film and play book. Or worry about if I am going to get in trouble.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

Yeah, I’m shorter than the average o-line guy, but I can guarantee that I will out work anyone else and that my height will never be an issue. I always strive for excellence. I do not get satisfied with where I am at. I am always looking to grow and get better. When you are green you grow, when you are ripe you rot. I am always looking to improve and get better with what I do.
