Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
None of them. Our season did not go the way I wanted or expected it to go.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
Easy player to coach, I want the best for my teammates and myself. I will challenge others to give or to do the things they need to do in order to be successful. Dedicated to my craft, intelligent on and off the field, great teammate on and off the field, I’m always asking questions about what or why we did things to understand for myself, good decision maker, and am always willing to learn. I’m sure they would say that I’m one of those kids that are just different from the rest.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I look for things that are not in my game that can be in my game and I try to incorporate those things in my game to improve myself. I look at football on all levels and take information from them and use them for my own benefit, either mentally or physically, in order to gain the edge on the competition. I do a lot of self education in order to spread information to others.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I am a very smart player, I am very versatile in the coverages I can play and in the things I can do, my understanding of the game is high, and finally, there is nothing I will not do in order to better myself to get to where I want to go.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
My training has always been taken very seriously for me, but now since there is no school for me anymore, I will be putting in work at professional facilities and getting after it daily, multiple times a day mentally and physically. My life is dedicated to football.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field, you will gain a player that can do anything you ask me to do. Most of the time I will ask you to do more. I’m the type of player that wants to do anything to win. With that being said, if you align me on offense, defense, special teams, or all three, then you will gain a player more than dedicated to winning. Off the field, I love to guide and learn from others and help others. I get to know my brothers on a completely different level so our chemistry is higher. I like to see what makes my teammates tick, so when I need them to tick, I know how to get them there.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
At this point in their career, everybody worked hard to get here, but I am different because I take care of myself on and off of the field (missed 0 games in my entire collegiate football career). I have no off the field issues, I pride myself in staying out of the way of any form of distractions, dedicated to success, good locker room guy, and a player that always wants to do more in terms of getting W’s on and off the field. I feel that you can’t miss with me.
