Name: Tim Hogan
School: Utica College
Position: RB/KR
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 210
What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goal was to be the best leader my team could have and lead us to post-season play. We fell short of winning a bowl-game, but I will still take a winning season. That was my main concern. Being the best captain I could be, showing my teammates the Utica College standard and becoming the best version of Tim Hogan day in and day out.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
If it wasn’t for my 6th year, I would not be in the position I am in. I believe I took full advantage of having this extra opportunity, and left it all out on the field every Saturday and the film shows. This year helped me tremendously in getting pro scout looks.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I’m one of the most reliable players and people you’ll ever meet. Whenever something needs to be done, I’m the man for the job. I won’t be out worked and will be the last man standing in any situation.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I mainly focus on my weakness and focus on making them strengths. At the same time, making my strengths stronger. I practice not to make sure I get it right, I practice to make sure I don’t get it wrong. I love to watch film and look for any tendencies or anything like that not only for my opponent, but for myself.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am a student of the game. I love to watch film. I love pushing my body to get a little better everyday. I was all over the field not just for RB but for Special Teams too, so I can do a multitude of things to help my team get a victory. I am not the type of guy to show weakness on or off the field.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Working with our Strength and Conditioning coaches to get my body and mind ready for the opportunity to continue to play. No distractions. Staying ready so I don’t have to get ready.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My leadership and versatility. I have a no-nonsense mentality whenever I step into the room. I know when to have fun, but when it’s time to work, I’m ready to roll. I am not a guy that coaches would need to worry about for disciplinary issues. Also, I am a guy who can break a run off for 75 and catch out of the backfield, but also go out there block a punt, pin a punt, be a hit guy on kickoff, or take a KR to the house. Whatever my role, I will be the best player on that field at that moment.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I will give you the best of Tim Hogan every single day in whatever it is what we are doing at that moment. You won’t see a player more bought in than myself. Whatever gets our team the victory and to be successful, I am willing to do whatever it takes!
