Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
To lead the dline in tackles and to inspire others & I feel like I did that.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe they would say I’m dawg . That I’m coachable and not a selfish player at all.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I focus on how low I am out of my hips, hand placement, my first steps, my get off, and whether or not I’m taking too many steps when I’m rushing . If I’m watching my opponent, if it’s a pass I’ll watch & see if the tackle or guard opens up fast vs speed or if he’s heavy on their feet. I watch whether they like to shoot their hands high or low most of the time or grab a lot. Against the run, I just make sure I’m staying low & playing vertical or stunting to my gap. I played in different schemes so different rules always applied.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My on the field leadership, I say stuff like watch the ball on third and short, or watch the screen on third and long. I’m always trailing backside if you’re running away from my side. My knowledge for the game and my position, also versatility/experience.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I want to train with next level trainers and get more explosive.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The kind of strengths and abilities I would bring to a team on and off the field would be me being me to be honest. I’d naturally get extra work in and bond with my teammates. I’d find somewhere in the city where we could get rehab or yoga, anything to get better so I can get an edge our opponent. So I’d basically inspire others to do more, whether that’s in the weight room or just sending tips on our opponents to our group. We can work that after practice or before, it doesn’t matter.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I’ve been blessed to have no injuries. I will adapt to any schemes I’m put in.I show a lot of versatility, I’ve played defensive end, MLB, 3 tech, 4I, and nose on my film. I’m physical and fast, I’m not scared to get deep in the trenches or outside the box. I know how to adapt to defensive schemes whether that is a stunting and twisting type of defense or a defense that plays vertical.
