Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I set this past season were to become an All-American. To rush for 1500 yards, and to help my team will the Conference Championship. I wasn’t able to accomplish the first two goals but I was able to help my team when the Conference championship.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I’m a hard working player. When I’m in practice I only know one speed and that’s 100%. I truly believe in the old saying, “the way you practice is the way you’re going to play”. I’m very coachable and a reliable teammate. If a coach ask me to get something done and there’s no way to make that happen, I WILL find a way by any means to accomplish that.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying film. First I look at my footwork and stance to make sure I’m on point. Then I’ll look at how all my linemen blocked to see if I had in other hour I could’ve hit. I also look at my opponents Linebackers stance because they stance can tell you everything about them. Like if they are already on their tippy toes and are leaning forward very hard that means they plan the run and about to shoot down immediately. But if they are on their heals they are playing pass first. I also look at the DB’s like if a CB is playing inside of a receiver and they FS is almost on top of the receiver that means it’s about to be a CB blitz.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separate me from other pro prospects is my speed and vision. Once I see an opening I’m hitting full speed without second guessing. And once I get pass your DB I have break away speed. Also my vision is very on point because I can see a defender coming on the side of me but still look straight ahead just to set him up. And my vision is great to read multiple holes at once.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
For my off-season plans I’ve been training with Jace Munds at Fitness FX. He’s been helping me with my 40, L-Drill, lifting, and meal preparation. There are some NFL players they train with me also so being around them and seeing how they work just give me an extra boost and getting me ready.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths and abilities I would bring to a team is speed, toughness, and a coachable player. Even off the field I’m always there for my teammates and I respect my organization is the best way possible.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
To any NFL or pro leagues out there that are probably reading this article about me right now. All I have to say is I just need one shot to prove and most definitely will prove to you that I can help your organization in any possible way that goes for practice squad, special teams player, and etc. I will get the job done. Just believe in me and I won’t let you down.
