Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
For my final season my goals were to be first team All-Conference and be a All-American. So far I have accomplished the first goal. Awaiting the results on the second part!
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My teammates and coaches would say I’m a intense player, with an instinct to be around the ball almost every play. They would also say I’m a natural leader.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Things that I focus on in film is sharpening my fundamentals. This may seem basic but if my feet are right and my reads are right I’ll make the right play every time.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Something that separates me from other prospects is my comprehension of the game and how to dissect offensive scheme. I would also say that I’m a 1 v 1 match up nightmare for offenses. I’m fast enough to blow by linemen while hard nose enough to meet the H-back on insert and blow the play up. While this is my run fit capabilities, I’m able to guard any TE or RB. I’m a every down backer!
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
This off-season I intend on training at my college’s facilities with our strength coach who has been with teams like Cincinnati and Mississippi State. I also, will be doing my speed training with an assistant strength coach at WVU, he is there speed specialist and will be helping me train for me 40. I feel like this will give me that advantage to get the best possible training from the highest possible trainers I know.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Some strengths that I can bring to a team is my work ethic. Through my whole college career I’ve been able to push my teammates to become better players. Off the field I graduated with honors while holding a part time job anytime I haven’t been playing ball. In 4 years at my current college I’ve never missed a weight session or position meeting I hold a high standard for myself and those around me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch would be this “ I have worked my entire life since I was a 12 year old boy to play in the pros. I’m not the biggest, I’m not the fastest, but I will do anything and everything I am asked. I will do whatever it takes to make a team and make a difference on that team. I’m a competitor and I will refuse to lose. If I lose once I will work until I don’t get beat anymore. I also, would like to add that although I’m 210 LB, I’m one of the strongest individuals on my team, I pride myself on the weight room and being in the best possible shape. If you take a chance on me it will not be a choice you’ll regret. I’m prepared, I’m ready, I’m made to play this game.
