Sam Noble: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Sam Noble
School: Central Oklahoma
Position: Offensive Tackle
Height: 6’5″
Weight: 300

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals were to simply do what I could to make my team better and give them the best chance to win. I wanted to be the best Tackle in the conference and prove to people that doubted me that they were wrong.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Physical, Technical, Dependable.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am training harder than I ever have. I am working with the coaches at Athlete Inc. in Oklahoma City to work on foot speed and leverage. I am really going to focus on the weaknesses that I do have and refine them to the best of my ability.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When studying film, I really focus on the Defensive Line. I try and pick up on any signs they give away pre-snap such as, leaning in their stance, shifts into certain formations, and any pre-snap communication that they may have. I also do the same for Linebackers, I see how fast and hard they fit into their gaps and any possible blitz formations. I also focus on the man I will be going up against the most and see how he plays, whether it is with speed or power, how quick his hands are, and any moves he has.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players is that I look for more of what the defender is going to do, so I am better prepared for it. Also, I feel that if a team needs me to switch sides of the ball and play the opposite Tackle or play in the Guard position, I can do so as well. In my college career, I have played both Tackle positions without any problem.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I feel as though my dependability is my biggest strength that I have. Teams can count on me to do my assignment on the field without any doubt. Also, I will conduct myself in a a way that will represent the program in the best of manner off the field. My will to win is a big strength that I bring. I will never accept defeat and won’t be happy with average. I will do whatever it takes to be the best at my position and will not be average.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I will do whatever it takes to not just better myself, but to better my team. Growing up, people have always doubted my ability, and through the years I have proved them wrong. If you take a chance on me, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
