Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
At the beginning of the season I set the individual goal of becoming an All-American. While I did not accomplish this goal, I was awarded All-Conference honors for the second season in a row. As for the team goals, we set the goal of being a top 2 seed in the playoff seeding. We ended up earning a 7 seed. We knew how good we could be if we played to our potential. Even though we did not accomplish our goals, I am very proud of my team!
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I am someone who strives for perfection in everything that I do. I am never satisfied with my performance and contentiously try to find ways to get better. Someone who is a natural leader, who puts the team first and wants what is best for the team.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film, I focus on tendencies in the offense, especially the offensive linemen that I will be facing. Focusing on the small things such as stances, foot placement, stagger, and alignment of running backs and tight ends can tell you exactly what you are going to get. Finding these clues on whether it will be run or pass, what blocks are coming, and how they will block you is a huge advantage.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
One thing that separates me from other prospects at my position is my hustle and effort. I take pride on my effort when people turn the film on. From the snap to the echo of the whistle I am getting to the ball. I would also say my ability to learn and understand a concept quickly is something that will separate me as well.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My offseason plan is to go train in Houston, Texas with Dynamic Sports Training. Here they will help prepare me for professional opportunities both physically and mentally. While working on strengthening, speed, and position work, I will also be doing mental training to be prepared for any situation I may be placed in.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One major strength that I can bring to a team is to lead in times of adversity. When things are going great, it is easy to lead and anyone can do it. When things get tough I am there for my teammates to lean on and continue to lead during this time. This also correlates off the field as well. I am always there for my team whenever they may need me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
My final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues is that I am willing to play any role I need to for the team. I am confident that I have the skills, abilities, and knowledge to play at the next level and my film will show that. With me, they will get a high character guy who gives everything I have to the team. I cannot wait for the opportunity to showcase my talents and prove I can play on Sundays.
