What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
First off I want to say all glory to God. To be in the position that I am in now, I’m grateful. The goals that I set for myself were to get better everyday in every way possible. I achieved this goal set and I helped turn our season around from being last in the conference to being the top in the conference. My team and I accomplished a 9-3 season record and becoming bowl game Champs. We were nominated as the biggest turnaround for any D2 football program in the country.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I can definitely say the extra year was a blessing. Through the pandemic I learned so much more about the game of football. I was able to take advantage for a whole year, working out and critiquing myself on the basics.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would definitely say that I’m a man of faith, a team leader, and competitor. They would say that I work hard in everything that I do rather that is practice, weights, or academics.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
To be honest I love watching film, it gives me the opportunity to critique myself and also study my opponent. A lot of things that I’m looking for with myself is my first step, my hands, and where my eyes are. The reason behind this is because every d-lineman needs to have a great first step and with out that first step, there’s no get off.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My drive, effort, knowledge, and the will to play with aggression separates me from other prospects.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently looking into training with a professional trainer with experience with professional athletes. My focus in training this offseason is getting faster and maintaining strength and flexibility.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths that I will bring would be my ability to stop the run, my effort, and my character on and off the field. I am a natural leader who gives his best to lead by example and to please God.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am greatly appreciative of all opportunities and I will take full advantage of those given to me. Let’s get started.
