Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My goals heading into my final season were leading to the best of my ability, being selfish in the sense of I know I could always do better for myself, which in turn would bring success for my team, and lastly showing my teammates and coaches what being a leader on and off the field is all about.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Relentless, Confident, Focused.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I had the opportunity to train at Infocus out in Indianapolis, Indiana. I had the pleasure of working with great coaches such as Coach Lavar, Coach Brookey, and Coach Cole. We worked on position drills, fine tuned movements and skills, and worked a lot on pro day testing. Currently, I am working with a personal trainer to keep in shape and staying football ready.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I would pick up on tendencies of the guard and tackle. I study formations and watch for repetitive moves for run and pass plays. For example, I see high hats from a tackle, I know it could be a pass or a draw play. Another example would be if the tackle was leaning, I know it is about to be a pull away from me. Also when watching film, I critique myself and find ways to always improve.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
The thing that separates me from other players would be that I am very coachable, I
have a high running motor, have a nose for the ball, and a high game IQ. I will not be outworked or outsmarted.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths I bring on and off the field are my leadership, my work ethic, and my passion for the game. I am a team player and am willing to do what it takes to help my team be successful.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
At a young age, I had this game taken away from me by being paralyzed. I was told that I may never walk or play sports again due to a football injury. That feeling of possibly losing the chance to play the game I love made me cherish every opportunity to play again and prove to everyone you can overcome any obstacle you face. I am a leader that is very dedicated, hardworking, and committed, and I will play every game like it’s my last. I can’t wait for my chance to play at the next level.
