Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My junior season was the best I had performed, so for my senior season I wanted to do better than I had the year prior. I felt stronger this past season and my stats definitely show for it.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say how I’m a good football player and a great teammate. They’d say how I’ve been a prominent leader on the team and how these past 4 years, I have been a weapon for our special teams units.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I like to study my practice film to really work on perfecting my kicking and punting technique. If I mess up on a kick I can feel what I did wrong, but watching the film helps me to visualize what it is that I need to work on so it won’t happen again.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Well, I’m a first team All-American kicker, I had the most touchbacks in D3 football two years in a row, I’m 6 foot 208 pounds and run a 4.65 40-yard dash, I have a 33.7 inch vertical, and I’ve got 3 career solo tackles and 1 forced fumble to clinch the win in the Cortaca Jug, the biggest D3 game of the year. Along with that, I can do all three. I specialize in kickoff and punt but I also excel at field goals.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I’m currently working with my strength coach from Cortland with weight and speed training. I’ve been kicking at indoor facilities over my winter break to prepare for upcoming combines this spring. I’m also in the process of looking for an agent.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I will be an explosive force on the field, helping to make any specs unit a threat to the other team. A lot of players don’t think about it, but teams we played in college had to really work to keep up with our special teams units. I believe in leading by example, on and off the field I always try to embody that. Off the field I’m a great mentor as well. I’m always there to lend a helping hand or give advice to somebody who needs it.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
If you want a kicker who excels at all three kicking jobs, an asset in the backfield as the last line of defense, then I’m your guy, plain and simple. I make sure that I’m always one of the hardest working player in the room, and my coaches would attest to that. Nobody wants it more than I do and I’m ready to show that to you.
