Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I played all over the line (LT, LG, RG and Center) in my college career and finally getting consequential years in one position I wanted to get myself on the All conference team in the CAA. Also i wanted to be named one of the team captains. I was blessed enough to achieve both of those in my final season.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
First off I’m an energy guy, always looking to pick someone up, challenge someone or bring someone along. Also I play with a lot of emotion play in and play out. Specific to OL I’m someone who like to play with an edge/nasty streak. I’m highly competitive and take my matchups especially when I get to go 1v1 very personally.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
One of the things I focus on especially when I watch others who play my position is how they use hands, feet and angles. Playing center you are in the middle of a lot of people and one misstep/bad angle can cause a lot of trouble for you and the people around you. Finding new ways to use angles, my quickness and my off hand are how I was able to really advance my game.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I just think it’s the experience I have at other positions. My understanding of the job the other positions have to do allows me to better find ways to help the line work together as one. It also helps with my processing pre and during the play, I can see the picture from not only a center’s perspective but also how the other see it as well.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have been training at Athletic Evolution in MA with around 10 other prospects from the CAA, ACC, B10, and NE10.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
First I am a natural born leader, not only in a take charge way but my ability to lead in words, example or just bringing people along. I also and very coach able after having had to learn all five positions, I am a fast learner and am committed to my craft. My highly competitor nature and edge gives me the right mindset to play my position. As an undersized guy that was forced to play tackle early in my career, I have learned to play to my strengths and find ways to be success fly no matter who’s in front of me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am a small school guy who just loves the game. I found football late and have been obsessed with it since. I appreciate the little things that add up to make you a better playing and I am hungry to learn and compete. Any team that take a a chance on me will be getting a hungry, competitive player that is looking to bring value from day 1.
