Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

All goals begin with a dream and I believe that if I dream it, I can achieve it. The goals I set out to accomplish this past season were to be the very best academically and the very best player I could be as a defensive back of my Kutztown University football team. Another goal of mine was to constantly work on the efficiency of my foot and hand techniques, to increase my effectiveness on the field. I wanted to help my team achieve the undefeated title in a regular season and win a championship. Some of my accomplishments during my final season was my team won the Division II PSAC East championship as the undefeated team of the PSAC east. We earned the second seed Division II bracket for the NCAA tournament. I earned All-PSAC Second Team honors for defensive back and was a major contributor of special teams averaging 25 yards with a high of 27.3 yards on return. My longest return was for 72 yards almost meeting my record of a 99-yard touchdown return last year. I was able to accomplish intercepting the ball, create pass break ups, recover fumbles and defend my opponents with my best efforts adding to my career achievements. My final season was phenomenal, I leave Kutztown University holding a school record for Kick return average of 25.73 yards and a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. I am recognized in my final collegiate year as #37 of 50 on the NCAA Division II charts for individual Kick return stats. I am very proud of my accomplishments and the ability to play with a group of amazing players with great guidance and support.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I am paying attention to coverages, offensive plays, routes being ran by receivers and quarter back abilities. I focus on how to play my position better as all these are game specific. As I watch film, I look for hand technique and body placement related to field positions. I am paying attention to how and when to use inside technique versus outside technique, how to defend in zone and short pass, screen sweep defense. I watch film in order to advance my level of expertise because I can also learn from other DB’s who are on top of their game.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I realize I had assistance with my success. I don’t want to compare myself to others because I see other pro prospects as individuals in search of fulfilling their dreams, we all have special gifts and are blessed with this opportunity. I can say that I am blessed to be in this position and my faith keeps me grounded in knowing I can do all things with God. I am a true athlete at heart with the physical ability and stamina to excel at all levels. I have played multiple positions in the game of football and have the versatility to be used offensively, defensively and on special teams with the skill to produce successful outcomes. I am successful at separating the receiver from the ball with my fearless approach to shutting down the outside of the field and making fundamental tackles. My success as a Dean’s list student, has afforded me the acquired skills to multitask and not allow the distractions of life to impede my ability to compete on the field.
