Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I set this year to accomplish for my final collegiate season was to be more of a force in stopping the Run and being better with my hands. I felt I accomplished that goal efficiently and improved alot.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I feel my coaches and teammates would tell you I’m a really selfless player who is willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful. That I’m always there to help my teammates and put them before myself. I don’t say much but when I do, the whole team listens.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
A big thing I look for when studying film is the tendencies of the Offensive lineman and the Running back’s lineup. For offensive lineman, I try to see how heavy/light he is in his stance, whether he’s leaning towards one way or another, how big his splits are (short/big). For running backs I try to see if they’re deep, in the backfield, close or wide beside the QB just to try to get clues on how they would run and pass the ball and where they would be positioned at.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I believe what separates me from other pro prospects is just the determination and eagerness I have to learn more about the game. As well just being able to be comfortable with being in uncomfortable situations. Knowing that there are people that are better than me and that I’ve still got work to do at all times. I’ve been counted out many times and am used to proving doubters wrong time and time again. Im not afraid to work hard to earn respect from my peers.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently training with Seth Boomsma at Boom Athletics for future professional opportunities.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths and abilities I bring to a team are that I am very versatile on the defensive Line. I can play nose, 2i, 3 tech, 4i. I know all the ins and outs of every position in the interior and can adapt to any situation thrown at me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
Whoever signs me just know you will be getting a hungry athlete looking to make his mark and is just looking for a chance to prove himself at the next level everyday.
