Name: Nick Watson
School: Tiffin University
Position: QB
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 205
What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I had set for myself was to become an All-American while breaking every passing record in Tiffin history along with winning conference player of the year again. I did become an All-American and was able to accomplish breaking records, which was all time passing in yards and touchdowns. For conference I was named first team all conference and offensive player of the year.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I used the extra year to prepare myself in every aspect! Physically with gaining 15 pounds, mentally by watching film on guys at the next level and how to handle myself to manage the game better. The biggest part was getting my teammates to push themselves to use the time to be elite as well.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I feel my coaches and teammate would call me a leader and a winner! Being a QB my whole life I’ve developed many forms of leadership while winning at every level I’ve played in.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Studying film I always look for ways for me to get better whether if it’s in my throws, running, or carrying out fakes I look for those things to improve my game. I also make sure you find tendencies in my opponent and what ways they should be attacked.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
There not one thing I can’t do. If you need me to go out and throw the ball 50 times or if you need me to throw the ball 5 times I’ll get the job done while making sure my teammates perform at their best! Once again im a winner! I’ve won at every level I’ve played in. I believe my college stats rank best among QBs in this draft class as well. I’m a natural born leader and my work ethic won’t be matched.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Right now I’m training in my hometown Cincinnati to prepare for my pro days and the draft.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My leadership, being able to make a difference and bring a winning attitude to wherever I land. Not just wanting the best for myself but for my teammates as well.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Your getting a guy that’s going to come to work everyday to find ways to learn, grow and get better and become the best to do it. This is a lifestyle for me and when I get my opportunity I will not let it slip!
