Nicholas White: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Nicholas White
School: Monmouth University
Position: DE
Height: 6-3
Weight: 255

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

As a mid year transfer my first goal was to learn the playbook and become a starter on defense. I managed to accomplish both. I also wanted to be an accountable leader on and off the field in which I also managed to accomplish. I feel as though I was a great teammate and my teammates and coaches could always count on me.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

Someone who you can count on and someone who is able to get the job done week in and week out. A leader who is dominant and going to do his job right and to the best of his ability every play.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I study my opponents I usually focus on any tells they may give to give me the upperhand. Watching their tendencies allow me to figure how I can exploit them in the coming game. When watching other D-linemen I focus on their footwork, hand placement, and movement they use in order to be successful.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I feel as though what separates me is my discipline while playing and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. I never been the guy to play for stats, my main objective while playing is always winning and being able to be dependable in helping my team achieve that goal. I feel as though I am very twitchy as a DE as well and my quickness allows me to deceive opponents. I am also versatile, I am not just a speed DE or power DE, I am able to give offensive lineman different looks because I am unpredictable.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I was blessed to be invited to the Tropical Bowl coming up. My plan is to display my talents in front of scouts first. Then I plan on training to have superb pro day numbers in March, giving myself the opportunity to play football professionally. I feel as though I am more than capable of playing at the next level no matter where it may be, NFL, CFL, or, UFL.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a great teammate and locker room guy. I feel as though I am also coachable. Being able to play under my father in high school has helped me learn a ton. Having a former NFL player and current high school football coach as your father teaches you a lot. Some of the things I learned did not have to be taught to me, just being around football so much at a young age allowed me to soak in a bunch of information. I am also a family oriented guy so I treat my teammates as if they are my brothers and there is nothing I would not do for them.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

As a player who has been able to dominate at both levels, Division I and Division II, I can bring a lot to a team. Someone who has displayed discipline and leadership and a guy all of my previous coaches can vouch for. I feel as though I can play at any level and be a dominant force on the defensive line.
