Name: Malik Sims
College: Shenandoah
Position: Defensive Back
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 180
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Malik: Aggressive, Smart, and Fast
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Malik: I will be lifting and training with my trainer Kevin Whittaker at ELITEDBTRAING in Temple Hills, MD.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Malik: I would compare myself to Tyrann Mathieu because of my size. Also, because I’m a very physical player with good feet and play instincts.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Malik: When I break down film, I look for the Wide Out Tendencies. If he shows when he is breaking into a route by standing up, or slowing down to cut. If it’s a running play, does he jog of the ball? I also watch the quarterback to see which side of the field he likes to favor when throwing.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Malik: What separates me from other players in my physicality and how I prepare for a opponent. I think no one will out prepare me, I’m going to know everything about my opponent.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Malik: On the field, I’m a great teammate that will make everybody better with my competitiveness making people compete at an all time high, so when in the game we will dominate. Off the field I love helping people, so I will be involved in the community heavily because I want to see other people succeed.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Malik: Your team needs a hard working committed athlete such as myself. I will bring that “Tom Brady Effect” to the team making everyone around me better while also learning from older guys that has been there before me. I will compete anywhere on the field just to be on the field. I will sacrifice what needs to be sacrificed to see the team and organization prevail.
