Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Lucas: My style of play would be Hardworking, Instinctive, and plays with uncontrollable passion for the game.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Lucas: I train at Phase One Sports in Las Vegas and am working on everything that the scouts are going to test for at the combine, such as 40, L drill, shuttle, vertical, bench, and broad jump. Also, I am working on a bunch of linebacker drills to help me better myself as a player. I have been training since January 1st, but only trained for a couple weeks as I went to the NFLPA Senior Bowl in California. After the game, I returned to Las Vegas to keep training.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Lucas: If I could compare myself, it would be guys like Antonio Pierce and Luke Kuechly because how much passion they bring to the game and how smart they are when playing.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Lucas: When studying film, I look for tendencies the other teams have, for example, most teams have certain plays out of certain personnel, so that is mainly what I look for when watching film.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Lucas: My study of the game and my passion I play with.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Lucas: I bring leadership. I was voted team captain 2 years in college and also at the NFLPA game. I bring passion, commitment, and the will do what ever it takes to help my team win.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Lucas: I am going to do what ever it takes, to help whatever team picks me up, win every game we play.
