Name: Jourdan McNeill
College: East Texas Baptist
Position: Running Back
Height: 5’7″
Weight: 190
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Jourdan: Grimey Hard Nosed.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Jourdan: I’ll be training at school getting mentally and physically prepared for the next steps.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Jourdan: I would say Thurman Thomas. He was a little out of my era, but I grew up watching YouTube videos over and over. He had an excellent mix of power to speed and quickness in the hole. On top of catching the ball out of the backfield, he just has his own style of running which is something I’ve tried to emulate.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Jourdan: When I’m studying film, I look at strengths and weaknesses of the defense. I like to know who is the best tackler, who comes hard on blitzes, and who takes plays off. I like to know for pass protection purposes who their best D Lineman is, in case I have to help my linemen out. Many times, the way a person tackles, I kind of determine what moves to use during the game.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Jourdan: I think my ability to pass protect and catch the ball out of the back field separates me from others. Another, is my style of running. No one runs harder than me in this draft, so that’s another upside.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Jourdan: I’m an extremely hard worker that knows what I need to get better at. I am an extremely coachable player that often has to make adjustments on the fly. I won’t be out worked when given the opportunity. I’ve played both offense and defense most of my life, so I know how defensive players think. Off the field, I am a positive influence and always push my friends and family to do better. I can bring that to your organization.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Jourdan: Take a chance on me. I’m coming for work everyday and will out work your hardest worker in your organization. I love the game and would love for the opportunity to further my career.
