Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Channing: Fast, physical, fearless.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Channing: I’m training at Northern State with the head strength coach and a speed coach in the area.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Channing: Marcus Peters because he is a ball hawk and he always plays fast.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Channing: When I am watching film, I focus on the get off of the receivers and also the consistency in their routes to see if I can pick up anything during the play and can figure out what route they are running.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Channing: I think the thing that separates me is that I’m not afraid to sacrifice my body to tackle a player no matter the size and I can play left and right corner. Also, I am able to play the nickel so I can be used in the run game. I am able to play special teams and play offense sometimes in certain occasions.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Channing: Abilities that I bring are that I am a leader that is not afraid to follow. I have a switch that I can turn on and off when it’s time to be full on football and serious with motivation and when it’s not needed, I like to hang out with teammates and make people laugh. Also, I am a great competitor and I am always ready to go when my number is called.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Channing: My final pitch is that I am a great competitor and will always give everything I’ve got every play. I am willing to go against anyone and I am always willing to do what’s best for the team in all three aspects of the football game.
