Name: Case Woodard II
College: Catawba
Position: Defensive Back
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 170

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Case: Smart. Quick. Deceptive.

Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Case: Physically, I’ve been working with personal trainer Beau Lotz. Everyday he’s developing my explosiveness, quickness, and strength. Mentally, I just have to continue to pray that I stay healthy and ready to receive what God has in store for me.

Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?

Case: I would say Richard Sherman because he knows how to prepare to be successful. We have long arms, he isn’t a blazing fast guy, but he’s a technician. He dedicates numerous hours of film study so that he is in the best position to make plays for the team.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

Case: When I study film of myself, I watch for my pad level, my play recognition, and my effort. In order to get better I have to be my own biggest critic. When studying film of my opponent I watch for tendencies. I want to see what the offenses’ comfort zone is. What they like to do in certain down and distances and who they like to get the ball to. I look for hand signals, alignment, and keys.

Q: What separates you from other players at your position?

Case: Coming from a performing arts background I definitely feel like all that dancing has given me a huge advantage with how quick my feet are and how fast I’m able to change direction. That’s critical for a defensive back.

Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Case: Good character. I feel like you can go so far on how solid your character is. I’m trustworthy on and off the field with the decisions I make.

Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Case: The idea of this pro dream becoming a goal and it being so close to reality is a miracle. Whether I play cornerback, nickel, safety, or strictly special teams, I will give all my effort and be the best that I can be at that spot. I am a man of good character and a man with much passion for this game. I just need one opportunity to be a great player and role model for the community and for your franchise. Thank you for the shot of a lifetime!
