Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goal this season after missing all of the 2022 season due to injury was to be a returning all conference player. But more importantly was to be the best teammate I could be. Being a 6th year guy wanting to help the younger guys and take on a leadership role was very important to me. I accomplished both goals this year and feel I made an impact returning to my team.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think they would say my dedication and ability to work hard is unmatched, that I am always willing to learn and grow on and off the field, and i think they would say as an overall human being i am a good person and a good teammate.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I think when looking at things to improve my first thought always goes to the weight room. I’d like to think I’m a very good athlete overall so working on training to be the best athletic version of myself is very important to me. Outside of that I’m always looking at ways to have overall better technique, working on feels that create the best punts in different situations, and finding ways to be the most consistent at punting the ball for good hang time and distance.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My ability to hit big kicks and hit the “big ball”. I would said my best ball is as good as anyone across the nation. Being a good athlete, my college coaches consider me to be one of the fastest guys on the team.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan is to attend some of the kicking camps in February with Kohls kicking and coach Zauner. Outside of that I am open to training either at home, school, or elsewhere that part of it is still tbd.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My ability to work harder then anyone else on the team. Take criticism when needed, and being as adaptive as I can be to help the team win games.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch is that although it sounds cliche I’m the type of person who does not quit when faced with adversity. When I tore my Achilles in 2022 missing the entire season and taking a leave from my school it was never an option to quit. I accomplished my goals physically after coming off the year long injury but more importantly took a lot of self reflecting to be the best person I could be on and off the field. When I don’t succeed at first i always look at it as an opportunity to grow and I think that ability to self reflect as a person and as an athlete leads to long term success on the field for any organization.
