Momo Sanogo: 2023 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Momo Sanogo
School: Louisville
Position: LB
Height: 6-1
Weight: 231

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I said out to get 100 tackles, 5 sacks, and 10 TFL‘s. I hit the sack and TFL goal, but I was just short of tackles with 89. I also set out to become an all ACC linebacker, but I had a slow first few games so I got honorable mention.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say I’m a field general, a leader through and through, someone who is consistent, dependable, and can be counted on at all times. Someone who never folds under pressure.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I’m big on looking for tendencies and patterns in playcalling, I also look for favorite formations based on field positions, so that I can better have an idea what plays going to be called by the other team once they line up. I’m always looking for an edge on the opponent. But one thing that’s pretty unconventional that I started doing this year was watching the opposing teams’ defense play, getting an idea for what works for them has seemed to help me find what will beat their offenses.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My mind. We are all talented, all athletic, all playmakers. But when you step into the NFL, every person every position is that way. My knowledge of the game sets me apart, I can quickly learn and execute multiple positions as well as quickly become an extra coach on the field.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My plan is simple, don’t stop doing the things that got you here in the first place, going hard in workouts, finding extra time to work on mobility and flexibility, doing ‘prehab’ to lower the chance of injuries, making sure no one in the country is out working me.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field I will bring the level of focus, intention, intensity, awareness, and energy that will become infectious and permeate throughout the team, pushing everyone to strive to create their best self. Off the field and in the building, I will be a sponge. doing everything i can to become as knowledgeable at linebacker, defense, and football as possible. and i won’t do it alone, i will bring people around me with me so that the team as a whole gets better.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Athleticism was a question, I answered that on Pro Day. Really check up on me, call former coaches, trainers, academic staff, teammates, anyone you like and find out the type of man i am; from their mouths, hear the value i create. Bring me in and put me through a workout, bring me in and put me on the board. I have 100% confidence in my ability and I am 100% confident that once you bring me in you won’t want to let me go. you’re investing a lot of money into who you chose to take, I personally would want to take the playmaker who leads with an uncanny confidence and has an unnatural love for this game.
