Goals sets; selected as a captain, play at 190-195 lbs, top ranked db, conference & national champ, all American. Accomplished all other than national championship
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
Coaches and players would say I am a fast, consistent competitor. A players coach that is selfless and looks to motivate the team on and off the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
While watching film I go through my checklist of keys to success each play to improve on my game. This includes understanding the call, knowing my responsibility within that call. Aligning for success, eyes in the proper position, and letting my stance give me the chance to execute at a high level.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from pro prospects at my position is my willingness to be an ultimate competitor in everything I do. I am a student of the game looking to master my craft. My attitude towards how I do one thing is how I do everything, as well as my efforts to run to the work daily. My determination and discipline will reassure the reason I got the opportunity to live out my dreams.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan this offseason is to use each day to train either physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. 5 days of training with 2 days active recovery. Continue sharpening my skills and learning. Reach out to as many people in this field or people who may know someone in the profession to give myself exposure and the right connections. Renewing my faith as I prepare for pro day.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The type of strengths I will bring to a team is my ability to drive culture. Culture is huge in our identity and our beliefs, so living what the organization is preaching will be infectious. My ability to be adaptable and play multiple different positions will give me opportunities to find a way on the field. I believe I can play offense as a receiver/running back, returner or half back gadget player at a very high level. As well as free or strong safety with experience at slot corner playing the nickel position. My contribution off the field will be finding the 1% guys that work to get a little better each day, learn from them and then bring more guys into that 1% column.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
My final pitch to the NFL and pro leagues is someone like myself that handles responsibility like a professional, has the characteristics of a leader, a hunger to grow and inspire the people around him, kill for opportunities like the one presenting itself! I’ve gotten better each year I’ve been in college production wise and as a human being. You don’t find too many people that want to be uncommon among high level competitors consistently! I’m asking for an opportunity and what I do with that will determine what future opportunities come along and getting the chance to do so is all I need!
