Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
This past season I set a couple goals before the season started. The first goal I set was to win a conference championship in the Missouri Valley Conference, unfortunately some games did not go our way so I did not achieve this goal. The 2nd goal I set was to lead the defensive line in tackles. I did achieve this goal.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say Im a relentless hard worker, and also an inspiration to my teammates. Getting through D1 football all while raising two kids would prove that I know how to deal with adversity. They would say I handle adversity very well. They would also say that I am an outstanding leader who makes those around me improve.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I always focus on the offensive lines tendencies, I always try 2-3 things they do particularly to see if I can find a pattern of why they do it to help increase my play recognition. Film study plays a vital role in being a successful athlete. If you know your opponent better than they know themselves then the first step of the battle is already won.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
A lot of people have had to deal with adversity in their life. With that being said, I pride myself in being a father of two boys. Getting through high school ball and D1 ball all while raising two kids just shows I know how to overcome adversity. That is my best attribute. I am also dedicated to my team, I am willing to do anything to assist with my team or teammates with becoming successful.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I train 6 days a week. Mainly on pass rush, strength and conditioning and flexibility. I also spend time daily looking through my old film to critique myself and see what areas I need to continue to improve on, to be able to compete at the next level.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Off the field I will always represent the team in a first class manner. On the field I have a resilient attitude toward everything I do. I am also a very unselfish player. I am an ultimate competitor and I feel like that is something that really makes a big difference in playing at the next level. Being an excellent competitor and having great mental toughness are vital. I have been focusing on improving those attributes these pst 5 years of college.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I would say that I would be blessed to be a part of any organization, I am a diamond in the rough. Any team that looks my way will not regret it. I will be the hardest worker in every room and I will also be one of the most dedicated persons in the room. I will sacrifice anything to help improve the team and help my teammates get better. Lastly, I am very coachable. Any team that looks my way is getting a player who is a quick learner. I will do whatever it takes to make a roster.
