Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
For my final season I really wanted to be more productive and make an impact for our defense. I gained a lot of confidence throughout the offseason and it propelled me to have my best year yet. I doubled my total tackles and quadrupled my tfls and sacks. I also set out to be a leader on the team, not only off the field but on it. I wanted to lead by example and give the younger guys someone to look to. I was voted to the leadership council by my teammates the last two years.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I’m a leader that doesn’t take the attention away from the team as a whole. They would also say I’m one of the hardest workers on the team who is mentally and physically tough.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film I tend to focus on the little details to improve my technique and overall play. Watching the Olinemans tendencies is also a major part of my film study. If I can tell by his stance or the way his foot is turned whether it’s run or pass, I can be one step ahead and have an idea of what’s coming.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I think the thing that separates me is my knowledge of the game and how fast I can pick things up. I pride myself in knowing the defense in and out so I can trust the players around me to do their job so I can do mine.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Right now I am deciding between a couple training places that have reached out to me but in the mean time I am still trying to find an agent.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think my leadership qualities would benefit any team that I end up on. Whether it’s on or off the field I think that’s is a quality that I can provide once I earn my stripes. I can also serve as a reliable player that will do his job.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m ready to put in even more work to be the best I can be and serve a team in anyway that I can. I have been overlooked and underrated my whole career so I play with a chip on my shoulder. I play fast and violet and can process things quickly. I like to learn and put my whole effort into learning a defense fast.
