Name: Max Oeser
School: Missouri Western
Position: Center
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 295

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My biggest goal was to do whatever I needed to do to help Missouri Western win a conference championship and play postseason football. My other goal was for our OL to be known throughout the conference as the best and most physical offensive line. We were unable to win a conference championship, but I do think that through our play as a group, we had the respect of other teams we played as a physical group that was one of the best in the conference. This meant a lot as the leader and only senior in the group last season.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Smart, physical, technical.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I am training on campus with our strength and conditioning coach. He has had good success in the past with getting guys ready and it allows me to keep working on my degree while training for the next level.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

On the first watch, I look at the effort of the DL and LBs. As the week goes on, I look for DL alignment and pass rush tendencies. How the interior DL play back blocks and double teams. With scouting LBs, I normally look to see if they have a tell on blitzes and where the safety is because it has been a good tell for inside blitz at times.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

Playing center, I think that most have a fairly high football IQ. Still with that, I think my intelligence separates me from an already smart group, because I can make the people around me better with my intelligence. I combine technical play with physical play which gives me a lot more tools when blocking whoever is in front of me. Lastly, I think that I play at a consistent level that not everyone can.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I don’t go half into anything and I am willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win. I have an high football IQ which helps in being to learn new schemes quickly and make adjustments on the fly. I believe I bring consistency in my technique and play. Off the field, I believe that if you can help people, you should and if you can’t, you should help when you can, and your help should be thankless.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I am a consistent physical player. My high football IQ makes me a field general type player that can make the people around me better and I am willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win. All I need is a chance.
