Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I wanted to win a championship. It’s as simple as that. I learned a lot during my time at Southern and had a chance to be a part of some big games like the Bayou Classic. But I wanted to go to a team where I could be a solid contributer and get a ring. Now I’ve won championships in high school and college, so my next goal it to win one professionally.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My belief is that all of my former teammates and coaches would be able to say that Moe is just an overall team guy. Whatever it takes to help my team win and be successful is what I did. If that meant running the ball right up my back for an entire drive to close out a game, so be it. If it meant putting me on an island against a defensive end so the offense can knock out a two minute drill, so be it. And if it meant getting my teammates mentally right throughout the week or on the sidelines I did that too.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When we are prepping for games the focus is definitely on defensive alignments and checking to see if their guys have any tendencies or tip-offs to what they are about to do. When I’m watching myself play I’m big on checking my footwork and alignment to make sure I’m putting myself in the best position to make a play. I’m a big guy, so as long as I keep my footwork tight I’m able to get in front of defenders, and then it’s game over for them.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My ability to play inside or outside on the line definitely separates me from other players. I’m comfortable at tackle being on an island against an end or backer. But I also can kick inside and play guard against heavier defensive tackles.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I’ve definitely been focused on building my core strength and working on my flexibility. Tightening up my core is really gonna help my tie all of the power from my upper and lower body together so I can be even more effective with blocking. And flexibility is another area I have been working on. It will help with injury prevention and just overall allowing me to move more efficiently.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My versatility on the field is a big trait for me as well as my accountability to my coaches, my teammates and myself. At the professional level I understand that this is a legit business now. What I do on and off the field can affect someone else’s job and their ability to take care of their family. So it’s not just about me. I’m a piece of a much bigger puzzle. So I make sure I stay accountable by putting in the work on the field and in the meeting rooms. But I also make sure I’m doing the right things when I’m not around football. I’ve never been a player that coaches have to worry about getting in trouble or being caught up in negativity. So I just always try to keep my name clean out of respect for myself, my family, and my team.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
With the opportunity, I can play both tackle and guard positions. As offenses expand and become more dynamic, players that can line up and multiple positions is needed. My goals is to win games and ultimately win a professional championship.
