Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goal that I challenged myself to do throughout this season was to go out and play with heart all year (even in practice). Each week I wanted to set aside at least three hours away from school, football, and my social life to study/watch film. My ultimate goal for this year was to put my team in the best situation to win, whether it be making plays catching the ball, springing someone free blocking, or continuing to encourage the team while I was on the sidelines.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I believe my coaches would say I am a dedicated football player that will do whatever it takes to put the team in a winning situation. I believe my teammates would say that I will give you my all in any situation.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I study film I like to look at my previous game first in order to see any indicators I may give in certain situations. Then I watch the upcoming defense to see what coverages they typically run throughout the whole game. After this I will look for any indicators or tendencies the defense will do before they run a particular coverage. When I finish that, I look for players that I will line up against throughout the game, and study them; look for their strengths, weaknesses, and apply ways that I can capitalize on the opportunities they may give me. Sometimes I may stop into my coach’s office to seek further help on ways I can make the best of my opportunities for the upcoming contest.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Above all else, I am here to make the team better in any way that I can. I play this game to win and I can’t win being an individual, so the trait that separates me is the discipline of doing whatever it takes to win for the organization.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am getting with my strength and conditioning program in order to be in the best shape possible, and I will be working with my receiver coach to continue to perfect my craft at the position.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I believe my discipline mindset would stand out on and off the field. As I stated before I am willing to do whatever it takes to win for the organization, whether that be on or off the field. I believe my attitude will be contagious, and have a positive impact with others on the team.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I am a man that rejects passivity, accepts responsibility, and pride myself on leading courageously. You will be getting a player that will do whatever it takes to put the team in winning situations, and I will have fun doing it.
